Shin Dance Academy

"Shin Dance" was founded by Shin Yue Wang in the summer of 1995, originally named "Shin Dance Institute". As more students enrolled, Shin Wang and her husband Oscar Bustamante moved from the smaller Monrovia location and opened "Shin Dance Academy" in Temple City, California in November 2001.

Ms. Wang uses the same approach to dance that has proven effective with university students in China and adapted that professional, systematic teaching style for American dancers. Shin has generated scores of dancers with strong technical foundations and outstanding stage presence, which has elevated the art of Chinese cultural dance in America.

Shin Dance Academy later opened Temple City Dance & Music, to serve the community of Temple City and surrounding areas. Expanding the classes offered, from just Chinese dance, to other classical and contemporary dance forms, and music lessons. The purpose was to create an atmosphere of creativity and artistic expression for everyone, from children to seniors. We strive to meet the needs of our students by building the kind of space that is safe, educational, inspiring, and nurturing. We pride ourselves in choosing a location that is local and easily accessible, making it possible for all those in our surrounding area to strengthen their minds and bodies.
